How to Stack the GE Washer WSXH208HWW

Stacking your General Electric WSXH208HWW washing machine and dryer is a handy way of recovering utility room floor space and reducing your laundry appliances’ footprint. With a stacking kit available from GE, you can safely place your dryer on top of your washing machine using common household tools. Because of the weight and heavy lifting involved, have an assistant help you with this task.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the dryer. Lower it onto its side with a towel between the panel and the ground preventing scratches. Have your assistant help you with this step.

    • 2

Locate the four leveling legs in each corner of the dryer’s bottom. Unscrew the legs with an adjustable wrench and place them to one side.

    • 3

Peel the backing off the adhesive rubber pads included in the stacking kit and place one over each hole left by a leveling leg.

    • 4

Screw the left and right brackets onto the dryer’s rear left and right corners using the Phillips screws provided.

    • 5

Tip the dryer back upright with the help of your assistant using a wooden block keeping the rear brackets off the ground. Make sure the washer is in its final location and leveled.

    • 6

With the help of at least two other people, lift the dryer on top of the washing machine. The dryer’s rear brackets should hang down behind the washer.

    • 7

Screw the four remaining screws from the stacking kit through the brackets into the washing machine, connecting the two appliances. You might have to shift the dryer on top of the washer with the help of an assistant to make the holes line up. The appliances are now stacked and ready for use once the power supply to the dryer has been reconnected.
