My Bosch Front Loader Door Is Stuck

It can be quite frustrating if you are faced with laundry chores and the door of your Bosch washing machine is stuck. Before you incur the expense of hiring an appliance service technician, try to determine the cause of the problem. It may be fairly simple to soon have your front loader washer door back in working order.
  1. Door Latch

    • Inspect the door latch for signs of damage. If the latch is bent or broken, it cannot engage, close or open properly. If damaged, replacement latches can be purchased online or from your local Bosch appliance dealer.

    Door Hinge

    • Examine the door hinge to determine if something is stuck in the hinge that prevents the hinge from opening or closing smoothly. A broken button, lint or other debris may be preventing the hinge from functioning freely.

    Drain

    • All Bosch front loading washers have a built-in safety feature that prevents the door from opening if the machine is still full of water. Try shutting the machine off and resetting the wash cycle. Push the start button and allow the machine to run a complete cycle. When the cycle is finished and the machine is completely drained, the door should open.

    Warning

    • To avoid the risk of electric shock, disconnect the appliance from the power outlet before cleaning or attempting do-it-yourself repairs. The lock problem may be caused by a malfunction in the control panel. Examine the control panel circuit board to see if there is evidence of damage or a burned-out solder. Control panels are complex. If you believe the control panel is at fault, it is best to call a professional Bosch appliance repair technician.
