Push "Power" to check if the dryer is receiving power from the outlet. Unplug the dryer's power cable and plug into an alternate outlet to check if the issue is related to the appliance or a specific outlet.
Unplug the appliance's power cord from the alternate power outlet after verifying that the outlet is not the problem. If the dryer is still not receiving power, call a professional electrician, as the home's wiring might be the culprit. If the dryer is getting power from the alternate outlet, head to the home's fuse box.
Open the fuse box located in the home's basement or utility area to access the dryer's power line.
Slide the fuse box's main power switch to the left to turn off the home's power. Turn on a flashlight and shine the light on the fuse box to see the fuses.
Locate the fuses that provide power to the dryer. The fuse sections typically are labeled by room in the fuse box and provide power to the electric outlets throughout the home.
Locate the fuse section that controls the Whirlpool dryer. Slowly turn the fuses counter clockwise to remove them from the fuse box.
Replace the removed fuses with new time-delay fuses by turning the fuse slowly to the right until it no longer moves. Flip the fuse box's main power switch to the right to restore power.
Insert the dryer's cable into the electrical outlet and turn the cycle knob to "Time dry." Push "Temp" on the dryer's control panel to choose the drying temperature, and press "Start."
