The Kenmore Elite dryer has one cycle, "Air Dry," that doesn't produce any heat. If you select this cycle, either on purpose or inadvertently, only room temperature air is used on the laundry. Selecting any of the other cycles should produce heat in the dryer.
If the dryer drum is turning, but you have no heat, you might have a blown fuse or tripped breaker. For a fuse box, only use a time-delay fuse to replace the blown fuse. Once replaced or reset, the dryer should produce heat again.
For the dryer to heat and dry your laundry, its location plays an important part in its effectiveness. If your dryer is in a room with an average temperature below 45 degrees Fahrenheit, such as in a garage, the dryer won't work properly. You either need to warm up the laundry room or move the dryer to a warmer room.
The display panel can show a variety of error codes to indicate a problem with the dryer. If your dryer display is showing an error code that begins with “E” and is followed by a number, your dryer has an internal failure. When this occurs, you have to call a qualified appliance technician for service on the machine.
