How to Change a Whirlpool Dryer AP3132867 Thermal Fuse

Many models of Whirlpool dryers utilize thermal fuse part number AP3132867, which is installed on the blower duct work of the dryer, behind the rear panel of the dryer. The purpose of the fuse is to monitor the internal temperature of the ducts, ensuring that they do not reach an unsafe level. If the ducts get too hot, which is often caused by a clogged exhaust vent, the fuse trips disrupting the power supply to the dryer's heating element. The fuse cannot be reset, and instead, must be replaced to resume use of the dryer.
