How to Set the Timer on a Front Load Whirlpool Dryer

Timed drying is an option in all Whirlpool dryers, which allows you to customize both the duration and temperature per load. Your clothes may not dry correctly when the timed dry cycle option is initially selected as different fabrics require longer or shorter drying times based on their weight and delicacy. If you want to change the time or temperature of a currently running cycle, you can do so with the dryer's control panel, which automatically updates the drying time to the inputted settings. Periodically pause the drying cycle to ensure clothes are not over-dried during the cycle as this weakens and dulls fabric.

Instructions

    • 1

Press "Cycle Signal" on the front of your Whirlpool dryer's control panel. Continue to hold the button until the light above the button turns off, which indicates the control panel lock is disabled.

    • 2

Push "Start/Pause" to halt the current timed cycle and wait for the clothes to stop moving in the dryer's drum.

    • 3

Select "Temperature" to toggle between the various temperature levels. A light next to the temperature will turn on to indicate the new setting.

    • 4

Press the up or down buttons on the control panel to increase or decrease the drying time. Push "Start/Pause" to resume the cycle and hold down the "Cycle Signal" option until the light turns on above it.
