How to Bypass the Lid Switch on a KitchenAid Washer

Your KitchenAid washing machine consists of a lid switch which serves as a safety feature. The switch completes the electrical circuit when the lid is closed and interrupts normal operation of the machine when the lid is open. In the process of troubleshooting a problem with your KitchenAid washer, you may want to bypass the lid switch so that you can observe the machine operating with the lid open. You can achieve this with a minimal amount of time and effort.
