Frigidaire Affinity Leak

You can encounter a leak from the Frigidaire Affinity washer as part of normal use as well as improper use. When this happens, you can try to troubleshoot the front-loading washing machine problem on your own instead of calling for service on the unit. You don't have to be a washing machine expert to diagnose the cause of the leak.
  1. Loose Fill Connection Hose

    • Move your washer so you have access to the back of it. You need to check the fill hose connections to determine if one or more is loose. The fill hoses are connected to the washer and the hot and cold wall faucets. The connections should be tight to prevent leaking. If you discover that one is loose, use pliers or a wrench to tighten it and stop the leak.

    Suds

    • If your leak is soapy water, it may be the result of too many suds overflowing from the washer. This can occur if you have soft water or if you are using a high-sudsing detergent. For soft water, just use less detergent than usual. You can also use a low-sudsing detergent, such as high efficiency, or HE, detergent.

    Drain Hose Restriction

    • Straighten out any kinks in the drain hose to get the water draining your washer properly. You may also have a problem with the drain hose being out of the standpipe, which is located on the rear of the machine. The end of the drain hose should be shaped like a hook and inserted in the standpipe. It can be secured with the included cable tie or strong, waterproof tape.

    Drain Clog

    • If the drain in your laundry room is clogged, it can cause the machine to leak. Generally, the drain must be able to handle 17 gallons of water per minute. You can try clearing a clogged drain with household drain cleaner. If that does not work, you should consult a local plumber to get it cleared.
