How to Replace the Rear Dryer Bearings on a Stacked Maytag

The rear dryer bearing in your Maytag washer and dryer combo is responsible for bearing the load of the dryer drum as it turns. When the bearing starts to go bad, it no longer bears the weight of the turning drum properly, creating a whining or grinding sound. If the rear bearing is making a whine or grinding sound, it should be replaced as soon as possible, as failure to do so can result in further damage to your Maytag unit.
