How to Take Apart a Whirlpool Laundry Tower

The Whirlpool Laundry Tower primarily consists of two drawers, an exterior support base and an optional top console. The top console offers additional space, but because it's an optional feature, it's not installed on all towers. Take apart the tower to make it easier for moving or storage. A pair of brackets connect the console and leveling feet. There also are larger parts that must be removed from the support base.

Instructions

    • 1

Pull out one drawer until it stops. Lift the drawer slightly to release it. Pull the drawer out completely from the tower. Set it aside. Repeat the same steps with the second drawer.

    • 2

Instruct each helper to grip one side of the tower. Pull it out and away from any walls. Set it upright on a piece of cardboard.

    • 3

Grab both sides of the console. Pull it up until the latches release from the brackets.

    • 4

Lay the tower on its side on the cardboard.

    • 5

Loosen and remove the screws from the two brackets. Put the screws and brackets in a sealed container for safe keeping.

    • 6

Loosen and remove the lock nuts on the four leveling feet. Place the nuts and leveling feet with the screws and brackets.
