How to Replace an Asko Ventless Dryer Drain Hose

Asko manufactures washers and dryers for use in commercial and residential locations. Their ventless dryers utilize a condensing mechanism, rather than a blower, to remove water from clothes inside the appliance. Water inside the Asko dryer is collected in the drum and passed through to a drain hose that carries the water to a condensation tank. Replacing an Asko dryer ventless dryer drain hose requires that you disassemble the machine to gain access to the hose area. This procedure can be done with standard tools available to the average do-it-yourselfer.

Things You'll Need

  • Screwdriver
  • 2 hose clamps

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the power for the Asko dryer at the main circuit breaker. Locate the switch that controls the dryer, and flip it to the "Off" setting.

    • 2

      Open the dryer door.

    • 3

Pull out the dryer drain container and empty. Set aside.

    • 4

Pull the Asko dryer forward out of the opening so that you can access the back panel.

    • 5

Loosen the screws holding the top of the cabinet in place located on the back panel. Slide the back panel toward the rear of the machine and lift it out of place.

    • 6

Remove the screws on the sides of the control panel with a screwdriver. Carefully lift the front panel up and off the front of the cabinet. Use caution, as the control panel is still connected by the wiring harness. Rest this on top of the appliance.

    • 7

Loosen the screws on the dryer door face with a screwdriver. These are located around the outer edges of the dryer door face as well as around the dryer door opening.

    • 8

Locate the drain hose at the bottom of the drum where it connects to the top of the condensation pan. These drain hoses are typically about an inch and a half in width. Loosen the hose clamps at either end and pull the hose out of place.

    • 9

Slip a new drain hose into place over the nipples at the bottom of the drum drain pan and the top of the condenser pan. Secure with a hose clamp.

    • 10

Replace the front of the machine and secure. Replace the control panel. Slide the top of the Asko back into place and secure with screws.

    • 11

Return the ventless dryer to its original location. Replace the condensing tank. Restore the power.
