"Consumer Reports" indicates that there appears to be a direct correlation between the price you pay for the machine and how well it cleans. The publication also recommends choosing a machine with either a plastic or stainless steel tub, rather than a porcelain one. These are less susceptible to chipping and rusting than porcelain.
