How to Remove the Side Panel From a Frigidaire Affinity

As you use your Frigidaire Affinity washing machine, you might experience some problems with its performance. When this occurs, you can troubleshoot the washer on your own. If you determine that an internal part needs repair or replacement, you can remove the body panels from the washer and access the inside yourself. In order to remove the side panels, you first need to remove the top and front panels of the washer.

Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect the power to the washer and disconnect the water inlet hoses from the back of the washer before attempting to take the washer apart. Once you do this, you can slide the washer out from the wall for better access.

    • 2

Take the top panel off by removing the back screws and sliding it off.

    • 3

Unscrew the door safety switch, which is held in place by two screws inside the door, and lift up the front panel of the washer to remove it.

    • 4

Remove the bottom and back screws for the side panel and push on the bottom latch with a screwdriver. This depresses the latch so that you can lift up the side panel to remove it.
