How to Install Dual Laundry Tubs

Dual laundry tubs are useful in homes with a large amount of laundry or with people that do a variety of craft projects. These two basins provide areas to wash out paintbrushes, dye fabric or soak objects, in addition to being helpful in a slew of laundry-related tasks. These tubs generally come with the basin as one large piece, requiring the installation of the four legs and any accessories mounted on top of the tubs.

Instructions

    • 1

Work through the parts list in the assembly instructions to see that each required object on the list is included in the box. Contact your store or the company directly if any parts are missing.

    • 2

Take out the dual basin, and set it on your working surface. Thread one of the bolts through a rubber or plastic washer and into one of the holes in the base of the basin. Pass the bolt from inside the basin through to the outside so the head and the washer are inside the basin. Attach another washer to the other side of the bolt on the outside, and thread it into one of the legs.

    • 3

Slide an Allen wrench or screwdriver into the head of the bolt that is on the inside of the basin, and hold it in place. Have an assistant rotate the leg of the tub until it tightens up against the basin. Position the leg in the correct spot, and tighten the bolt the rest of the way from within the basin by using the Allen wrench or screwdriver. Repeat to attach the other three legs.

    • 4

Screw the included outflow tubing to the bottom of each basin. Pass the tubing along the floor to the drain. Connect additional tubing using connectors by smearing waterproof glue on the threads of the connector prior to attaching the tubes together.

    • 5

Clamp or mount the water fixtures to the dual tubs, or position the tubs under the fixtures that are already in place on the wall. Test the seal of the leg bolts and the drain tubes by filling the tubs with a little bit of water to test the seal. Tighten all attachments for one final adjustment.
