How To Fix the Start/Pause Button on My Bosch 500 Series Electric Dryer

Bosch designed the 500 Series electric dryer to provide owners with useful status indicators, such as whether the machine is engaged or is paused. Many models in the 500 Series family feature an illuminated "Start/Pause" button, where the LED light dynamically flashes on and off to visually inform you of the "Pause" mode, as well as other related functions. At times, the Bosch electric dryer can suffer an internal fault with its advanced computer programming or a malfunction that hampers your ability to pause the machine. The fix for this issue, however, is relatively elementary and uninvolved.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the "Cycle Selector" knob from its current drying cycle to the "Off" position.

    • 2

Note the current time. Wait 30 minutes for the dryer to cool down.

    • 3

Turn the "Cycle Selector" knob to reselect your previous drying cycle that was canceled. Press "Start/Pause" to begin the cycle again.

    • 4

Look at the light on the "Start/Pause" button; it should be a solid color, such as red. Press the "Start/Pause" button to test if the dryer will now pause on your command. The light should transition from solid to blinking. This indicates that the machine has stopped and entered "Pause" mode.
