How to Fix a Moisture Sensor Whirlpool Duet Dryer

To protect your garments from over-exposure to heat and reduce the cost of running your dryer, Whirlpool Duet dryers have a moisture sensor built into the appliance. Located inside of the lint filter housing, the sensor detects the overall moisture level contained in the air of the dryer and uses it to determine whether the clothes are still wet. Once moisture is no longer present, the dryer turns off. If the moisture sensor fails, you may notice that your dryer runs much longer than usual, and continues running after the clothes are dry. To restore your dryer, replace the moisture sensor.
