How to Change the Side Door on the Whirlpool Duet Sport Washer

The main door of the Whirlpool Duet Sport front-load washing machine is held in place with three screws on the left side of the door opening. Changing the door is sometimes the only viable option when there has been significant damage to the perspex window or plastic trim. With a replacement door purchased from Whirlpool or another parts dealer, you can easily remove the existing, broken door and have your washing machine running in under half an hour.

     Open the existing door 90 degrees to reveal the three hinge screws on the left side of the washer's drum opening.

     Support the weight of the door and remove the screws. Lift the door up and pull outward to separate it from the washer.

     Hang the new door in position and tighten the screws back in the sockets. Close the door to make sure the strike lines up with the locking mechanism.
