Move your Kenmore dryer away from the wall, and unplug the cord from the wall outlet.
Turn the gas supply valve near the dryer to the “Off” position. Remove all of the nine hex-head screws from the rear panel using a socket wrench.
Lift and remove the entire rear panel. Locate the thermal fuse, which is the white plastic connector at the bottom left side of the rear of the dryer that has two wires connected to it.
Loosen the screw above the thermal fuse using a Phillips screwdriver, and pull out the two wires connected to the fuse.
Remove the screw from the fuse, and lift the fuse out the dryer. Insert a new fuse into the same position, and reinsert the screw into the fuse.
Reconnect the two wires to the fuse by pressing them into the connectors. Place the rear panel back onto the dryer, and reinsert all of the hex-head screws.
Turn the gas supply valve back to the “On” position, and reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet.
