Unplug both the washer and the dryer power cords from the wall outlets. Move the washer close to its final placement, leaving enough room in the rear of the machine to attach the mounting brackets from the stacking kit.
Place a level on top of the washer and ensure the bubble is between the two marks. Turn the feet on the washer in the direction needed to level the washer, if necessary. Remove the level from the machine.
Place a blanket or large piece of cardboard on the floor next to the dryer. Lay the dryer onto the blanket or cardboard on its side. Unscrew the feet from the bottom of the dryer and remove them. Save the feet for future use, if desired.
Use a helper and lift the dryer upright onto the top of the washer. Slide the dryer as needed so that all edges of the machine line up with the edges on the washer.
Hold one of the mounting brackets from the stacking kit to the back side of the washer and dryer. Line up the mounting holes in the bracket with the holes in the bottom of the dryer and the top of the washer. Turn the rear feet on the dryer in the direction needed to move it up or down as needed until the mounting holes line up, if necessary. Repeat for the remaining bracket.
Lock the feet in place on the dryer by turning the locking nuts on the feet with a wrench in a clockwise direction. Secure the mounting brackets to the washer and dryer with the screws provided with the stacking kit. Tighten the screws with a nut driver or Phillips screwdriver, depending on what type of fasteners came with your kit.
Twist the front feet on the dryer in the direction needed so that the front and back of the machine are at equal heights, if necessary. Use a helper and slide the washer to its final desired placement. Level the washer again using the same procedure as before.
