An interrupted rinse cycle causes the washer to halt operation, and will be unresponsive if the washer's cleaning cycle is manually changed mid-cycle. A turn of the washer's cycle knob back to "Rinse" restores the interrupted cycle, and automatically shuts off the washer once the cycle completes its full run.
An unbalanced load affects the washer's ability to run normally, and requires manually removing clothing from the washer's drum to allow restore washer performance. An unbalanced load includes one that is packed too tightly in the washer and thereby prevents proper agitation, and limits the washer's ability to run during the wash cycle.
An excessive amount of detergent used during the wash cycle results in drain clogs, which prevents the wash and drain cycle from finishing and requires setting the washer to the "Rinse & Drain" cycle to clear out unnecessary detergent in the washer.
The speed currently set on your washer may be too high for the washer to operate normally. By lowering the washing speed to the appropriate level based on the type and amount of clothing, you can fix performance issues that causes the washer to be unresponsive during the regular wash cycle.
