My Kenmore 113-01 Leaks During the Rinse Cycle

With regular usage, a Kenmore washing machine can develop performance problems, including leaks. Leaks can occur during certain parts of the cycle and from specific areas. If you encounter a leak during the rinse cycle, you do not need to be an appliance expert to troubleshoot the machine on your own.
  1. Check Fill Hoses

    • The fill hoses connect to the back of the washer and the wall faucets. Loose hoses can cause leaks during the rinse cycle. Feel where the hoses connect to the washer for a leak. Tighten loose hoses with pliers.

    Check Washer Load

    • Leaks can occur if the washer is overloaded or has an unbalanced load. Water splashes off the laundry that is sitting up too high and close to the lid. For an overloaded washer, just remove some of the items. For a unbalanced washer, redistribute the items in the washer.

    Check for Sitting Level

    • Leaks can occur when the washer is not sitting level. This can be caused by the washer tub not sitting centered or the washer moving back and forth during the cycle. The washer has legs that can be adjusted with a wrench so that you can get it level. You might need someone to help you lift up the washer so you can access the legs.

    Check Drain Hose and Drain

    • A loose drain hose or clogged drain can produce a rinse cycle leak. The drain hose is connected to the lower back of the washer. If it's loose, give it a firm push to get it back in place. Clear a clogged drain by pouring in some household drain cleaner.
