Removing the Soap Dish Tray on the GE Profile Front-Loading Washer

Making repairs to the GE Profile front-loading washer requires some disassembly of the washer cabinet to access parts. When disassembling the control console, you have to remove the soap dish tray from the unit because a screw inside the soap dish cavity helps secure the control console to the washer. Removing the soap dish tray on the GE Profile front-loading washer is also a good way to clean the tray to remove soap and softener buildup.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug your GE Profile front-loading washer. Although you won't have direct contact with wiring when removing the soap dish tray, it is a safe practice to disconnect power to prevent accidental shocks.

    • 2

Pull out the soap dish until it stops. Look in the back of the soap dish tray for a lever tab on the left side.

    • 3

Press down the lever tab in the back of the soap dish tray. Pull the soap dish tray out of the GE Profile washer.
