Measure the length from the dryer outlet duct to where the vent will exit the house, using a tape measure. Drill a test hole using a 1/4-inch drill bit, then locate the hole on the outside of the house to make sure there are no obstructions for the vent cap.
Cut a hole through the wall using a drill and a 4 1/4-inch hole saw. Note that if you are going through concrete, you must drill several holes through the wall using a drill and masonry bit. Once you have enough holes, you can open up the wall using a hammer and chisel.
Measure the length of exit pipe you need, using the tape measure, and cut the pipe to the proper length using tin snips. Remember that you need about 3 inches extra on each end to connect the duct tubing and vent cap. Attach the vent cap to the duct pipe, and insert it in into the wall from the outside. Secure the cap using a Phillips screwdriver and drywall screws.
Caulk around the vent cap on the outside to seal off the entire opening, using the caulking gun. Connect the duct to the exit duct inside the house. Secure the duct to the exit pipe, using a screw clamp and a Phillips screwdriver to tighten it up.
Connect the other end of the duct pipe to the dryer, and tighten the screw clamp, using a Phillips screwdriver. Plug the power cord into the electrical outlet, and push the dryer into place against the wall after the project is complete.
