Move your refrigerator away from the wall and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Open the left side of the refrigerator, which is the freezer door.
Remove the three screws from the top hinge cover, on the top door hinge, using a Phillips screwdriver.
Find the thick, white tube, which is the water line. Turn the black locking collar on the water line clockwise to disconnect it.
Close the freezer door and remove the two screws from the lower panel at the bottom of the refrigerator.
Lift and remove the entire panel. Find the bottom portion of the freezer door water line and turn the locking collar clockwise to release it.
Pull the entire freezer door water line out of the door from the bottom. Open the freezer door again.
Connect the top of the new water line part to the top connector at the top door hinge. Turn the locking collar counterclockwise.
Drop the rest of the water line down through the side of the door so it falls to the bottom. Place the hinge cover back on and reinsert the screws.
Connect the bottom end of the water line to the bottom connector and turn the locking collar counterclockwise.
Place the lower panel back on and reinsert the screws. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
