Disassembling a Whirlpool Refrigerator's Door Bezel

A refrigerator door bezel sits inside the unit. This is the liner that separates the outer surface of the door from the inside of the refrigerator. This is true regardless of what company manufactured your appliance. The bezel consists of two pieces: the liner and the gasket. Removing the bezel can give you access to resources embedded in the door, such as an ice dispenser, or be part of dissembling the entire unit.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the refrigerator door and slide your finger under the gasket, or rubber piece that creates a seal between the door and body of the refrigerator.

    • 2

Remove the screws holding the gasket in place and pull it off the door. The screws sit around the edge of the door under the gasket.

    • 3

Pull off the nuts around the door. Slide a nut driver over the ends and turn it counterclockwise. Remove all the visible nuts with the driver.

    • 4

Push your fingers under the bezel after the nuts are off. Pull the bezel toward you until it comes free from the door.
