How to Replace the Ice Maker in an LG LBC22520SW

LG is a manufacturer of consumer electronics and household appliances, including cell phones, televisions, washing machines and refrigerators. The LG LBC22520SW is a bottom-freezer model, meaning instead of a compartment on top or side-by-side doors, the freezer is a pull-out drawer in the lower part of the refrigerator. If the ice maker in you’re LG refrigerator has stop working, you can replace it without having to replace the whole appliance. Be sure to have someone with proper experience replace the ice maker.

  • Philips-head screwdriver
  • Replacement ice maker

Instructions

      Pull the refrigerator away from the wall. Unplug the appliance.

      Remove the ice tray from the freezer.

      Twist the water supply valve at the back of the ice maker clockwise to turn off the water to the ice maker.

      Unscrew the plastic hose to the ice maker. Remove the mounting screws holding the ice maker to the inside of the freezer.

      Remove the ice maker carefully. Disconnect the wire plug.

    • 6

      Connect the wire plug, then the water supply. Place the ice maker back into position and tighten the screws to mount it in place. Replace the ice tray. Turn the water supply back on, reconnect the refrigerator to the electrical outlet and move the appliance back in place.
