How to Remove the Compressor Cover on a GE Refrigerator

The compressor in your refrigerator acts as a motor for the cooling system. When the refrigerator thermostat drops to a certain level, coolant is added with the help of the compressor. On GE refrigerators, the compressor is on the back of the unit. It is also covered by a protective panel. You will need to remove this panel if you want to troubleshoot a faulty compressor.
