Instructions

Move the refrigerator away from the wall. Check the condition of the cold water supply line that runs from the back of the appliance to your household plumbing. Make sure there are no kinks or sharp turns in the line. Check the shut-off valve to make sure it's in the "Open" position. The pipe must stay straight when you move the refrigerator back so that the water line is not blocked.

Open the freezer. Check food containers to make sure they are clear of the door shelves. The water and ice dispenser is automatically switched off when the freezer door is left ajar. The door is completely closed when the rubber seals touch the frame of the refrigerator. Cumbersome items in the door shelves could also be the cause of the problem.

Purchase a replacement filter for your refrigerator from Frigidaire if the existing one has been in use longer than six months. This refrigerator uses RG-100 or FC-100 "PureSource" filter cartridges. If the cartridge holder is in the upper right corner of the fresh food compartment and beneath a cap, you need the RG-100. These cartridges fit inside a special drawer beside the controls. To change cartridges, eject the old cartridge by pressing the release button or unscrewing the protective cap before inserting the replacement. Hold the "Filter Status" button until the reminder light turns green.

Adjust the temperature settings via the thermostat if the fresh food compartment is below 37 degrees Fahrenheit or 3 degrees Celsius. The thermostat dial usually achieves a satisfactory food storage temperature at the "Factory Default" mark. Purchase a refrigerator thermometer from your local hardware store if you suspect the appliance is running cold. If the temperature falls below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, you risk freezing the water tank inside the fresh food compartment that's used to supply the dispenser.
