How to Install a Refrigerator Dispenser Housing Kit

Many modern refrigerators come with water and ice dispensers on the outsides of refrigerator doors. These dispenser components are protected by housings, which act as guards and frames. While these housings protect the components, they are prone to scratches or cracks. It's possible to replace a refrigerator dispenser housing in minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug your refrigerator from its power source.

    • 2

Insert the tip of a flat-head screwdriver in the seam where the plastic frame of the dispenser meets the door of the refrigerator. Pop the frame out.

    • 3

Pull the control panel out of the housing by its sides. The control panel is located on the top of the housing. It controls the dispenser. Unplug the wiring harness that runs to the rear of the control panel. This is the wiring that runs from the circuit board to a port at the back of the control panel. Set the control panel aside.

Remove the screws on the corners of the dispenser housing with your Phillips screwdriver. Remove the housing. Set it aside.
