Disconnect the refrigerator from its power source and move it away from the wall to access the back.
Connect the copper tubing for the inline water line to the refrigerator's water valve. The water valve is attached to the back of the refrigerator and acts as a connector between the water line and the refrigerator's water inlet. The copper tubing is available at your local hardware store as part of a refrigerator installation kit that includes a shutoff valve.
Place a compression nut over the nut at the bottom of the water valve and turn the compression nut counterclockwise to reinforce the line's connection.
Push the ends of the tube clamp together to open its teeth and place the tube clamp over the copper tubing.
Turn the water shutoff valve a half-turn clockwise to secure the refrigerator connection. Move the refrigerator back against the wall and plug it in to restore electricity to the appliance.
