How to Replace the Air Damper Control on a Frigidaire

The air damper control in a Frigidaire refrigerator is a small compartment connected to the control panel that helps to control air flow into the refrigerator from the freezer. If your refrigerator is too cold or not cool enough, then you may have a damaged air damper control. The damper control can be manually removed from the damper housing and control panel, and a new part
can be installed, if necessary.

    • 5

Remove the entire damper housing and control panel assembly from the refrigerator. Pull the top damper control, a white box-like piece, out of the housing.

Place the damper assembly and control panel back into the top left corner of the refrigerator.

    • 9

Slide the thermistor back into the side channel, then reconnect the wire harness to the control panel.

    • 10

Reinsert the screws into the control panel and damper housing, then close the refrigerator door. Reconnect the refrigerator power cord into the wall outlet.
