Wear sturdy work gloves to protect your hands from any refrigerant spillage.
Pull the refrigerator out from the wall and unplug it. This protects you from possible electric shock.
Remove the back panel of your refrigerator with a screwdriver. This enables you to hook up the gauges.
Locate the refrigerant gauges. Typically, refrigerators have two gauges that are labeled "low" and "high" pressure, or they will be blue and red.
Stick the manifold gauge pressure pin marked "low" into the blue or lower-pressure valve at the top of the opening. Push down until you feel it connect.
Insert the manifold gauge pressure pin labeled "high" to the red or high-pressure nozzle.
Turn on the manifold gauges to measure the refrigerant level. Refer to the owner's manual to determine if the level is low or within the normal range for your appliance. .
