Move the refrigerator away from the wall and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Turn off the water supply valve by turning the handle clockwise until it's tight.
Open the bottom basket of the freezer. Pull the ice tray out and set it aside.
Loosen the screws from the mounting brackets at the top of the ice maker, securing the ice maker to the side of the freezer wall. Do not completely remove the screw.
Lift the ice maker up and pull it away from the wall.
Squeeze the tab on the wire harness to disconnect the ice maker wire harness from the refrigerator's wire harness. Remove the ice maker from the cabinet for repair or replacement.
