Ice Making Process

• Your KSRG25FKSS05’s ice maker receives water from the water line to produce the ice cubes. As it makes cubes, the cubes fall into the ice bin, located on the inside of the freezer door. When you press a glass or other container into the ice dispenser lever, the metal spiral, or auger, in the ice bin turns and pushes the ice from the bin down the chute.

Freezing Up

• While the KSRG25FKSS05 ice maker relies on the cold from the freezer to function, it’s possible the ice maker assembly can malfunction due to freezing. Sometimes the ice can freeze together and jam in the chute. The auger can also develop frozen ice around it, preventing it from turning.
