How to Fix Condensation Leaks in a Refrigerator

Check the rubber seals between the refrigerator and the door. If the seals are loose or broken, cool air leaks out of the refrigerator, causing the refrigerator to run more than necessary. Condensation builds up on the coils and eventually leaks onto the floor. If the seals are tight, but the refrigerator isn't closing properly, clean the seals with warm water and lubricant. If they are loose, you may need to tighten the gaskets or replace the seals. Make sure your refrigerator stands upright; if it's tilted too far forward, it can cause the door to open slightly. Adjust the rear legs as needed so the refrigerator stands upright or tilts slightly to the rear.

Examine the drain pan for cracks or fissures. The drain pan is usually found underneath the bottom of the fridge. If the drain pan is broken, you need to purchase a replacement pan.

Consult your owner's manual to find out where the defrost drain is located on your particular model. If the defrost drain appears clogged or iced over, run warm water over it until it unclogs. If the defrost drain is clogged, the drain pan will be empty.
