How to Fix a Frigidaire Refrigerator That Is Not Cooling on the Top & Bottom

The Frigidaire French Door refrigerator provides both a side-by-side section for refrigeration and a bottom section for freezer items and controls the temperature with its built-in LCD control panel. A slightly audible humming noise is an indication of an active compressor in the refrigerator, which means the refrigerator is running to control the temperature of the freezer and refrigerator. Accidental changes to the refrigerator's temperature affect the compressor; if there is no noise and the refrigerator or freezer feels warm to the touch, the appliance is not running. If the refrigerator continues behaving erratically, it may require expert service repair because an electrical issue may exist with its control panel.

Instructions

    • 1

Check the refrigerator's power plug to ensure it is fully inserted into the outlet.

    • 2

Touch "Control Lock" for three seconds to unlock the refrigerator's control panel. Press "Power" to see if the cooling system is active. Accidentally holding the power button shuts off the cooling system, which disables the freezer and refrigerator for cleaning purposes or for moving.

    • 3

Hold "Default Settings" for three seconds to reset the refrigerator to its factory settings for the default freezer and refrigerator temperatures.

    • 4

Push "Control Lock" for three seconds to lock the control panel. Wait at least 24 hours for the refrigerator and freezer to adjust to the new settings.
