Troubleshooting the Amana Ice Maker Water Level Overflow

Amana refrigerators have a modular ice maker installed in the freezer compartment. Amana appliances are manufactured by Whirlpool and have a Whirlpool model ice maker installed. The ice maker has a timer that allows water to flow into the ice tray. The flow of water is measured by time, rather than volume, so if too much water is flowing into the ice tray, you must reduce the amount of time during which the ice tray is filled.

     Unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet.

     Open the freezer compartment door and move any contents blocking the ice maker.

   • 3

     Pull the front panel off of the front of the ice maker.

   • 4

     Locate the screw on the right side of the ice maker.

   • 5

     Rotate the screw one-quarter of a turn clockwise to reduce the amount of water that is allowed to flow into the ice tray.

   • 6

     Reassemble the ice maker, plug the refrigerator back into the wall outlet and then allow the ice maker to cycle, which may take several hours.
