How to Disassemble the Door Handle on a Frigidaire GLHS66EJW

The Frigidaire GLHS66EJW refrigerator-freezer has a seamless plastic handle that blends into the plastic trim without any visible screw holes. To clean behind the handle or install a replacement piece of trim you need to remove some pieces of the door. The exterior parts of the refrigerator are susceptible to damage because they are the most handled parts of the appliance. These instructions are straightforward enough to memorize for future reference.

Instructions

    • 1

Grip the lower part of the trim – located below the door handle – and slide it firmly downward. The piece moves roughly 1 inch before it can be pulled off the front of the refrigerator.

    • 2

Remove the screw now visible at the bottom of the handle with the lower trim removed. Slide the handle and the upper part of the trim firmly upward.

    • 3

Pull the handle and the upper piece of plastic trim off the front of the refrigerator. Several plastic fastenings will be left behind. Loosen the screws inside each one to remove.
