How to Replace Shelf Pins on Whirlpool Refrigerator Doors

Shelf pins on a Whirlpool refrigerator hold the shelves in place on the doors and on the interior portion of the refrigerator and freezer. The shelf pins are usually made of plastic, thus, over time, they may become brittle, or crack. The shelf pins can break if you place heavy items on the shelves or if you bump or adjust the shelf around a lot. Replacing the shelf pins allows you to continue to use the shelves and it only takes a few minutes.
