How to Clear a Clogged Freezer Condensate Drain Line

A freezer’s drain line allows the stored items to remain frost-free. Condensation and melting frost flow through the drain and into an evaporation pan under the refrigerator. If you have noticed a puddle or sheet of ice forming beneath the appliance, it’s possible the drain line is clogged. This can be caused by dust particles, ice or other debris. Clearing this clog is just a matter of defrosting the freezer and flushing the drain line. You’ll want a safe place to store freezer items while you tend to the clog.
