How To Remove a Front Display on a GE Profile Refrigerator

Many models of General Electric Profile refrigerators have an ice and water dispenser built into the front panel of the freezer door. The dispenser has a control panel that enables you to select the type of ice cubes you want, and on some models houses the compartment's temperature controls. If you are repairing your GE refrigerator's ice dispenser, you may need to remove the control panel and front display to gain access to the dispenser components.

Instructions

    • 1

Move your GE Profile refrigerator away from the wall.

    • 2

Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, then turn off the refrigerator's water supply valve by rotating the handle clockwise until it is tight.

    • 3

Grasp the dispenser control panel interface from the bottom and pull it away from the dispenser to release it from the housing.

    • 4

Disconnect the wire connectors on the rear of the interface by depressing the tab on each connector, then pulling the connector off the terminal.
