How to Fix the Icemaker Fill Tube on a KitchenAid KSRS27IHSS00

The KitchenAid KSRS27IHSS00 refrigerator is available with an automatic ice maker. An ice maker requires a fill tube to run the water from your water valve to the ice maker. Over time, a fill tube can crack or kink, needing replacement. You cannot repair a fill tube but you can purchase and install a new fill tube on your own.

Instructions

    • 1

Move the KitchenAid refrigerator out from the wall and then unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.

    • 2

Turn off the water valve that runs to the refrigerator. In many homes, the water valve is behind the refrigerator or under the kitchen sink.

    • 3

Follow the ice maker’s installation guide to remove the ice maker from the KitchenAid’s freezer. Often, you will only need to unscrew the mounting screws that hold the ice maker in place against the wall. The KSRS27IHSS00 has different types of ice makers available, so for accuracy, follow the installation guide and work in reverse. You will need a Phillips screwdriver.

    • 7

Pull the fill tube out of the clips that hold it in place.

    • 8

Disconnect the fill tube from the bottom of the water valve by unscrewing it by hand.

    • 9

Connect the new fill tube to the water valve and screw it into place, run the fill tube up the back of the freezer and push it into the clips.
