Tightening a Loose Whirlpool Evaporator Fan

A loud humming or rattling noise from your Whirlpool refrigerator could be a sign of a loose evaporator fan. The fan moves air through the evaporator coils, cooling the refrigerator and freezer compartments. A loose fan won’t move air as efficiently, and could cause the temperature in your refrigerator and freezer to rise to unsafe levels. A service call to tighten the fan could end up being very expensive; however, you can do it yourself for free.
