Instructions

    • 1

Move your Amana refrigerator away from the wall, and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

    • 2

Plug in a lamp into the same outlet, then turn the lamp on to see if it turns on. If the lamp turn on, then the problem is with the refrigerator's power cord and not the outlet or fuse.

    • 3

Open the fuse box for your home, which is typically located in the garage or near the furnace.

    • 4

Turn the main switch lever in the fuse box to the "Off" position, then turn the lever back to the "On" position.

    • 5

Plug the power cord to your refrigerator back into the wall outlet, and see if the power works again by opening the refrigerator door to see if the light is on.

    • 6

Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet again if the power doesn't come. This indicates that the fuse is blown in the circuit breaker and it needs to be replaced.

    • 7

Turn the main switch lever in the fuse box to the "Off" position again. Locate the fuse connected for your Amana refrigerator, then insert a flathead screwdriver into the front of the fuse.

    • 8

Turn the screwdriver counter-clockwise, then pull out the fuse. Insert a new fuse into the same position, and turn the screw clockwise to lock it into place.

    • 9

Turn the main switch lever back to the "On" position. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
