How to Adjust a Frigidare Freezer Door

Frigidaire freezers come equipped with a seal around the inner perimeter of the door that keeps air from entering or escaping when the freezer door is closed. A correctly adjusted freezer door shuts properly and provides an airtight seal that helps keep frozen foods at the proper temperature. Frigidaire freezer doors may require adjusting after being relocated or because of extensive use. You can adjust the door on your Frigidaire freezer with the proper tools and basic do-it-yourself ability.

Instructions

    • 1

Check the alignment of the Frigidaire freezer door by placing a level over the freezer and the door. The door should be even with the freezer, neither higher nor lower. The door must be closed when performing this check.

    • 2

Find the adjustment bolt at the bottom of the lower door hinge.

    • 3

Raise the freezer door if it is lower than the freezer by turning the adjustment bolt clockwise with a 7/16-inch open-end wrench. Turn the bolt in small increments, stopping to check the door alignment after each turn.

    • 4

Lower the door by turning the adjustment bolt counterclockwise until the door is even with the freezer.
