Plug a voltage meter probe into the electrical outlet where the Emerson wine cooler will be connected.
Check the volt meter reading to verify that the outlet has at least 110 or 120 volts of electrical power.
Find the household fuse box and read the label on the inside of the fuse box door to make sure the outlet is connected to a 15-amp time-delay fuse.
Plug the Emerson wine cooler power cord into the electrical outlet. Remove any other appliances from the outlet.
Turn the wine cooler on by pressing the up or down arrow key pad on the control panel to set the desired cooling temperature. Allow several hours for the refrigerator to cool properly.
Reset the household circuit breaker or replace the fuse if the Emerson wine cooler has no power after verifying the proper voltage and amp reading for the cooler and setting the temperature for the cooler.
Contact Emerson for service if the power plug is damaged or broken or the cooler does not operate even after performing troubleshooting efforts. Do not use the wine cooler if the power cord is damaged or broken until the unit has been inspected and serviced by a professional technician.
