Remove the drip pan. Verify it's correctly installed. The pan should sit level in its place. If it's out of place or has a hole in it, water may overflow the pan. Replace the pan if it is damaged.
Look at the location of the accumulating water. If the water is around the drain tube, it may indicate a clogged defrost drain. Some refrigerators require the services of a qualified technician to unclog the drain. If the drain is accessible, sometimes filling a bulb baster with hot water and 1 teaspoon of baking soda and flushing the drain with the solution can clear it.
Inspect the copper water line leading to the water valve. If it's loose or damaged, water can leak from it. Tighten a loose line and replace the line if it's damaged. Contact a qualified plumber to replace the line if you are unable.
Inspect the tubing running from the water valve to the ice maker. If it's loose or damaged, water may leak from it. If the tubing is loose, shut off the water valve and tighten the valve fitting. If the tubing is damaged, replace it or contact a qualified plumber to install a new line.
