How to Fix a Drive Cup on a GE Freezer

GE freezers' ice-dispensing drive cups are found at the end of the auger unit in the ice container. The cups are part of the ice-making mechanism. Covering the ice auger unit protects the mechanisms on the inside of the ice maker from jamming. A cracked or broken drive cup needs replacing, with little experience or expertise required on the part of the home handyman. Replacing a cup will fix two ice maker problems; not making ice and noise.
