Recessed Mini Refrigerator Under Counter Installation

Installing a mini refrigerator under a counter allows you to take advantage of the available cabinet space to add cold storage to your kitchen or wet bar area. The refrigerators are made with common counter heights and depths in mind, sliding easily into the space beneath your counter for installation. Once in place, all that’s needed is to secure the unit to the countertop using the included brackets, affording you the luxury of a small refrigerator after less than an hour’s installation work.

Instructions

    • 1

Pull the hinge covers upward from the top of the refrigerator by hand. On sliding drawer refrigerators, the hinge holes are not used as the traditional side-mounted refrigerator door is not present. Screw the anti-tip brackets that came with the refrigerator to the cabinet top into the hinge holes using a Phillips screwdriver. Use a bracket that attaches to the countertop base if your countertop is of a wood core construction such as with a laminate or tile countertop, or a solid-surface countertop, made of acrylic or resin. Use the side mounting brackets if the countertop is of a solid slab construction, such as granite or marble.

Slide the refrigerator into the cabinet recess. Plug the cord into the electrical outlet located in the rear of the cabinet. Make certain the front of the refrigerator is flush with the front of the counter to allow for smooth opening.

    • 3

Raise the legs of the refrigerator by unscrewing them to raise the unit until the top touches the base of the countertop. Place a level onto the refrigerator floor to make certain the unit is level within the cabinet recess.

    • 4

Secure the refrigerator into position by driving the screws through the brackets attached to the hinge holes into the base of the countertop, or into the sides of the cabinet. The side brackets are adjustable, allowing you to move them outward from the refrigerator body slightly to meet the sides of the cabinet.

Secure a refrigerator with a side-mounted door by removing the screws from the door hinge side, placing the bracket on top of the hinge, and then placing the screws securing the bracket to the refrigerator through both the bracket and the connected door hinge to hold both the door and bracket in place. Proceed with the bracket to countertop or cabinet side installation as with the sliding door instructions.
