Replacing the Surface of a Schott Ceran Eco-Friendly Whirlpool Stove

The Schott Ceran Eco-Friendly cooktop surface is a part that is manufactured without the release of hazardous materials, and it can handle high temperatures without cracking. It is featured on various models of Whirlpool stoves and can also be purchased separately. If you have a damaged Schott Ceran cooktop surface, you can replace it at any time with a new part.

Instructions

    • 1

      Turn off the electrical power to your Whirlpool stove from your kitchen circuit breaker.

      Locate the attachment clamps for the cooktop on each side of the cooktop connected to your kitchen countertop.

      Loosen the screws on the clamps, using a Phillips screwdriver, then lift off the clamping brackets from the stove.

      Lift up the cooktop with the help of another person. Slide the cooktop toward the front of the stove.

      Disconnect the wire connectors from the junction box at the top back of the stove, then fully lift the countertop off of the stove.

      Slide the new Schott Ceran Eco-Friendly countertop onto the top of the stove, and reconnect the wire connectors into the same terminals in the junction box.

      Slide the rest of the countertop carefully over the stove, then reattach each clamping bracket to the sides of the stove.

      Reinsert the screws into the clamping brackets to tighten the countertop to the stove. Turn the electrical power back on from your kitchen circuit breaker.
